  • New Mobile Number

Step 1: Visit iTax

To be able to update your mobile number on iTax, the first thing that you need to do is to visit iTax using the url https://itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/

Once you are on iTax, you need to do the following; enter KRA PIN Number or National ID Number, click on “Continue” button, enter iTax Password (KRA Password), solve the arithmetic question (security stamp) and click on the “Login” button to access your iTax account.

In this step, from your iTax account dashboard, on the top menu, follow this sequence; click on “Registration” menu, then “Amend PIN Details” and finally “Update Contact Details” to start the process of changing and updating your mobile number on iTax.

Next, select and delete the current mobile number and proceed to enter your new mobile number on iTax. Once you have entered your mobile number, you will be prompted to verify the same by sending mobile OTP to the new mobile number. Proceed by clicking on the “OK” button. 

In order to continue using iTax functionality you are required to verify your mobile number.Please click “Send Mobile OTP” button to receive OTP on mentioned mobile number.

In this step, you need to click on the “Send Mobile OTP” button to receive the OTP verification code from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) via SMS. You will receive an SMS from KRACare stating:

Dear iTax User, Your One Time Password (OTP) is: 5*8*. This OTP will expire in 15 minutes.

You need to enter that mobile OTP verification code and click on the “Submit” to complete the process of changing and amending mobile number on iTax.

In the final step, after entering the Mobile OTP on iTax, you will receive a notification stating, “Taxpayer contacts have been updated successfully. You can reprint your PIN certificate to get the new details.” This message confirms that your mobile number has been successfully updated on iTax.
